Frequently Asked Questions

1. What types of preserved foliage do you stock?
The range includes several Eucalyptus varieties (Baby Blue, Cinerea, Populus), Ruscus, Fern, Palm, Willow, Hedera Arborea, and Fox Grass, among others.

2. How long does preserved foliage last?
Preserved foliage typically lasts several months to a few years, depending on storage conditions, with humidity and sunlight being the main factors that shorten its lifespan.

3. Does preserved foliage need water?
No, preserved foliage should never be watered. It's designed to be used dry and will hold its shape and colour without any water at all.

4. Is preserved foliage real plant material?
Yes, all preserved foliage starts as real, freshly cut greenery that's then treated with a preservation solution rather than being artificial or silk.

5. Can preserved foliage be bent or shaped?
Yes, preserved foliage stays considerably more flexible than dried foliage, which makes it easier to work into curved or structured arrangements without snapping.

6. What is the difference between preserved and dried foliage?
Preserved foliage stays soft, pliable, and closer to its natural colour, while dried foliage becomes stiff, brittle, and more faded. Preserved foliage suits arrangements that need shaping; dried foliage suits more rustic, textural work.

7. Which preserved foliage works well as a base layer in arrangements?
Ruscus and Fern are commonly used as a dense base layer, while Eucalyptus varieties are popular for adding softer texture and colour on top.

8. Will preserved foliage fade in a bright room?
Yes, direct sunlight is the main cause of fading. Kept in a room with indirect light, preserved foliage holds its colour for a long time.

9. Can preserved foliage be bought wholesale for floristry businesses?
Yes, Fora Nature supplies preserved foliage at trade prices by the bunch or stem, with UK next-day delivery available for trade accounts.

10. Is preserved foliage suitable for wedding and event work?
Yes, preserved foliage is widely used in weddings and events because it can be prepared well in advance and holds its look throughout a long day without wilting.
